We are seeking an elementary (K-5) School Psychologist who is approachable and flexible, works collaboratively with others, understands child development, demonstrates patience with students and adults, has strong oral and written communication skills and can effectively communicate with diverse groups of people, problem-solves effectively, has strong organizational skills, and is familiar with educational measurement and evaluation principles. In addition, the school psychologist is knowledgeable in addressing behavioral, emotional, and learning concerns; is knowledgeable about the Part 200 state laws and regulations, understands learning disabilities; pursues continuing education opportunities to keep informed about new research and other developments in the psychology world; administers tests and analyzes results to identify problems or eligibility for special education or 504 plans; provides counseling for students; and is knowledgeable about the Committee on Special Education (CSE) and Section 504 processes and has experience chairing such meetings. NYS certification as a School Psychologist, tenure track, starting September 2024.
