This position involves the responsibility for performing accounting functions, including maintenance and review of financial records and reporting, as well as other assigned functions.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or closely related field and 2 years full-time accounting experience, including maintaining double entry accounting, governmental accounting and preparation of budgets, and financial reports, orAssociate degree in Accounting or closely related field and 4 years full-time accounting experience including maintaining double entry accounting, governmental accounting and preparation of budgets and financial reports.Working knowledge of the laws, rules, regulations, procedures and policies as they relate to school district finances. Working knowledge of methods used in keeping financial accounts and records; ability to prepare comprehensive financial and statistical reports; integrity; good judgment; tact and courtesy; good physical condition.School district or BOCES experience is preferred. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Cash management of all accounts Signing of all checks drawn on district accountsInvesting district funds as directed by Board of Education or Business AdministratorPreparing bank depositsExecuting wire transfersTracking and recording cash receipts, revenues and expensesPreparing and recording journal entriesPreparing monthly Treasurer’s reportsPreparing forms/reports for Federal GrantsRecording budget amendments and transfersPreparing invoicesProviding documentation for internal and external auditsAssisting in annual budget preparation and year end closingWorking closely with Accounts Payable and PayrollPerforming related duties as assigned by Board of Education or Business AdministratorPlease upload the following to be considered: Letter of Interest, current resume, letters of recommendation, and copies of all levels of college transcripts.
