SUPERVISOR (DIRECTOR) OF ENL, DUAL LANGUAGE, AND WORLD LANGUAGESDISTRICT-WIDEEFFECTIVE - TBDMINIMUMREQUIREMENT: New York State Certification as:School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL)Certification in ENL, Bilingual Education, and/or World LanguagePOSITION: One (1) availableDUTIES: *See Position GuideSALARY: COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE AND AS PER SHAA NEGOTIATED AGREEMENTResponsibilities/Duties:World Languages (6-12):Work closely with world language teachers (grades 6-12) to foster a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement.Share best practices in language instruction, assessment, and curriculum development to ensure program alignment that is consistent with New York State Learning Standards and high-quality learning experiences.Monitor student progress and program effectiveness, using data to inform decision-making and program adjustments.Supervision of World Language teachers, attending to staffing needs, and budgetary planning.ENL and Bilingual Education (K-12):Provide leadership and oversight for the K-12 ENL and bilingual programs, ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulations.Collaborate with building administrators and ENL teachers to implement effective identification, instruction, assessment, and support services for English Language Learners.Collaborate with the Student Services department to implement the most appropriate pre-referral interventions and services to dually identified students. Work closely with the District Data Administrator to collect and analyze data for state reporting purposes, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.Stay abreast of current research and best practices for the instruction of English Language Learners in ENL and Bilingual Education Programs.Provide and coordinate professional development on best practices for ELLsWork in coordination with the Office of Curriculum and Instruction in regard to the Title III Grant. Dual Language Program (K-12):Collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, and community members to ensure the continued success of the K-12 Dual Language programSupervising and monitoring enrollment, staffing, instruction, curriculum, articulation, budget, and assessment.Monitor program implementation and evaluate its effectiveness in promoting bilingualism, biliteracy, cross-cultural understanding, and the attainment of the NYS Seal of Biliteracy.Support the recruitment and retention of qualified dual language teachers.Continued parent outreach and focus on community involvement. Professional Growth and Collaboration:Participate actively in professional organizations related to world languages, Bilingual Education, Two-Way Immersion, and ENL.Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in the field.Share expertise and best practices with colleagues within the District and at professional conferences.
