P-6 COORDINATOR OF STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) EFFECTIVE: August 31, 2026 MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: New York Certification in Childhood Education Grades 1-6 DUTIES: Oversee and provide support for the P-6 Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math curricula, instruction, and assessment. Collaborate with the P-6 teaching staff and administration to support the development and implementation of rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, both as discrete disciplines and through interdisciplinary, project-based learning experiences. Collaborate with building principals and district administration to implement and evaluate effective P-6 STEM programs. Provide coaching and professional development to P-6 teachers to enhance instructional practices and curriculum alignment. Coordinate the selection, procurement, and distribution of P-6 STEM instructional materials, resources, and technology tools. Monitor and analyze student performance data in P-6 STEM areas to identify trends, inform instructional decisions, and ensure equity in outcomes. Assist in developing the P-6 STEM budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support program goals. Facilitate the integration of technology and interdisciplinary connections within the P-6 STEM curriculum. Stay current with best practices, research, and trends in P-6 STEM education and related fields. Serve as a liaison for District-wide P-6 STEM initiatives, including extracurricular activities and partnerships. Support the Supervisor of Math and CTE and the Supervisor of Science, Engineering, and Research in preparing reports and presentations on the status, needs, and progress of the P-6 STEM program for the Assistant Superintendents and Board of Education.
