P-12 SUPERVISOR (DIRECTOR) OF SCIENCE, ENGINEERING, AND RESEARCH EFFECTIVE: JULY 1, 2026 MINIMUM REQUIREMENT: New York Certification as School District Leader (SDL) or School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS) **Prior experience as a Supervisor, Building Administrator or Department Chair preferred** DUTIES: Oversee, develop, and supervise the P-12 Science, Engineering, and Research curricula, ensuring alignment with state and national standards. This includes Health Sciences and Agricultural Education (CTE). Evaluate and support instructional staff in the implementation of best practices in science and engineering education. Plan and lead professional development for teachers focused on inquiry-based learning, STEM integration, and research methodologies. Manage departmental budgets, resources, and inventory for science and engineering materials and equipment. Coordinate and supervise student research initiatives, science competitions, and STEM-related extra-curricular activities. Facilitate the use of technology and innovative tools to enhance science and engineering instruction. Collaborate with district administrators, building principals, and community stakeholders to promote STEM education. Monitor student achievement data and use it to inform programmatic decisions and instructional improvements. Support the continuous review and selection of instructional materials and textbooks for science and engineering programs. Supervise and collaborate with the P-6 STEM Coordinator in order to ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of all P-12 Science, Engineering, Research and STEM instructional programs.
