FULL-TIME INSTRUCTIONAL POSITION AVAILABLE Middle School Attendance OfficerSTIMSON MIDDLE SCHOOLEFFECTIVE AUGUST 27, 2025MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Appropriate New York State certification for School Attendance Teacher - Knowledge of the McKinney-Vento Guidelines & Protocols- Strong communication skills- Conversant in the principles of Restorative Practice- Knowledgeable of community-based resources for health & human servicesRESPONSIBILITIES: The selected candidate will be under the supervision of the Middle School Principal or their designee to complete the following assigned duties including but not limited to:- Run daily reports from Infinite Campus to identify students with full-day and period-by- period absences.- Hold regular attendance meetings with students, parents, teachers, guidance counselors, and administration.- Effectively communicate the attendance policies with students, parents, and staff. - Communicate with grade-level administration regarding potential chronic absentees.- Support new entrants identified as ELLs, regarding their attendance, with accessing services within Student Services, the ENL department, and administration.- Facilitate Restorative Circles with students and staff- Coordinate workload between teachers and students in a Restorative setting or in school suspension.- Initiate and follow up with residency verification checksSALARY: Per SHTA negotiated agreement.
