FULL TIME K-5 Curriculum Coach MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: New York State Elementary Teaching Certification Five (5) Years Teaching Experience Individuals with experience in Savvas My View Literacy PreferredGENERAL KNOWLEDGE OF: *K-5 NYS Curriculum *The Science of Reading *NYS Next Generation ELA Learning StandardsRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:Work closely with the Office of Curriculum and Instruction to assist with the development of curriculum, instruction and assessments.Provide direction to ensure instruction is consistent with district initiatives and recognized best instructional practices. Support teachers and administrators in using data to improve instruction by identifying specific, measurable and attainable benchmarks for teacher and student performance. Build strong relationships with teachers, administrators, and other content coaches.Assist teachers with the planning and pacing of lessons, the development of differentiated lessons, and the selection of best practices to meet the needs of their students.Participate in collaborative grade-level meetings to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning and student achievement. Develop staff members’ knowledge, skills, and behaviors through professional development in collaboration with the district’s literacy consultants. Provide teachers with resources, materials, tools, and information to support classroom instruction and planning, including new resources and books.Participate in other special projects assigned by the administration supporting elementary literacy.Develop grade-level Curriculum Pacing Calendars and collaborate with other District Coaches in the coordination of curriculum timelines.Provide professional development sessions for teachers regarding district initiatives including new teacher workshops.Collaborate with district consultants and building administrators in creating schedules and a focus for work that will support district initiatives.SALARY: SHTA negotiated agreement
