NON-INSTRUCTIONAL POSITION AVAILABLEMAINTENANCE MECHANIC IIIFACILITIES DEPARTMENTEFFECTIVE: AUGUST 2023 HOURS: 7:00 AM - 3:30PM PREFERRED: Electrician DUTIES: Skilled mechanic in major craft, knowledge in the use and care of tools, materials and equipment of the trade.Experience exercising independent judgment in determining materials and methods to be used in the performance of specific assignments aand experience in actively participating in the various levels of a given project, from initial planning through implementation and completion.Participates in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, painting and mechanical repair and renovations. QUALIFICATIONS: Either: One (1) year of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic II Four (4) years of experience in building maintenance or trades,(2) of which involved skilled trades work. NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Depending on the nature of the assignment, at the time of appointment and during employment in this title, candidates may be required to possess a valid New York State driver’s license appropriate for the vehicle to be operated.
