FULL-TIME 12-MONTH POSITION AVAILABLE* Do not apply if you have applied already to last posting* Additional position opened up GROUNDSKEEPER IFACILITIES DEPARTMENT EFFECTIVE JULY 2022 HOURS: 7:00 am – 3:30 pm Applicants in this job perform skilled work in the maintenance of municipal school grounds. The nature of the work is such that requires good knowledge of the occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions in grounds maintenance work. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Head Groundskeeper or other assigned supervisory personnel; and is reviewed while in progress and upon completion for the achievement of desired results. DUTIES: Participates in the seeding and mowing of lawns, planting and pruning trees and shrubbery and raking of leaves; participates in skilled propagation, cutting, planting, transplanting, mulching and cultivation of flowers, plants and shrubs; application of fertilizers and herbicides; participates in the operation and maintenance of related machinery and equipment; removal of snow and ice from driveways, parking lots and pedestrian walkways. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to follow written and oral instructions; Mechanical skills in related field including small engine repair and upkeep in Ground related equipment; Three (3) years of experience in grounds maintenance activities preferred NYS Commercial Pesticide Applicator 3A Possess and maintain a valid/clean NYS driver’s license; Physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position
