Bilingual/Dually Certified Candidates Preferred.JOB DESCRIPTION: To assist the Elementary School Principal in utilizing administrative, leadership, and supervisory skills while providing a personalized and exceptional education program for all students.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Serve as a visible and community focused leader.Actively pursue meaningful and positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff, and community.Promote and support a positive school climate and student behavior through ongoing social emotional learning opportunities and effective use of school personnel.Facilitate and foster ongoing parent/school communications.Monitor, steward and promote school attendance.Supervise both student arrival and departure times through appropriate allocation of staffing.Advance instructional practices through conducting needs assessments along with providing corresponding opportunities and resources.Explore and promote practices such as differentiated instruction, co-teaching, and technology integration.Coordinate professional development and evaluation of non-teaching staff (Clerical, Teaching Aide’s, Teaching Assistants).Evaluate, support and promote excellence in literacy and mathematics.Serve as a lead evaluator, through conducting ongoing observations, as part of the District’s Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) plan.Coordinate RTI programs and meetings, gifted and talented services and connections between building specialists and classroom teachers.Support Principal in developing student and staff scheduling.Supervise substitutes and non-teaching staff.Serve as one of the school’s designated DASA (Dignity for All Students Act) Coordinators and an active member of the school safety team.Collect and analyze data and further data-driven instructional decision making.Oversee school-wide assessment program, including NYS Exams.Schedule enrichment programs and events.Assume responsibility for the administration of the school in the absence of the Principal.Assist and support the Principal in any other areas as assigned by the Principal.
