SOUTH ORANGETOWN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT160 Van Wyck Road, Blauvelt, NY 10913 OFFICE OF STAFF RELATIONSJuly 14, 2022 VACANCY 2022-2023Posting #62 INTERIM SCHOOL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR (ANTICIPATED) The South Orangetown Central School District has the following and anticipated employment vacancy: OPENING: Interim School Business Administrator (Anticipated) AVAILABILITY: On or about September 12, 2022 through June 30, 2023 JOB DESCRIPTION: The Interim School Business Administrator leads the Office of Finance and Management Services and reports to the Superintendent. Responsibilities include overseeing all financial, facilities, food service, and transportation operations of the District while translating the educational program of the district into a composite and prudent fiscal plan. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:Allocate resources aligned to District’s mission and strategic goals.Budget development, presentations, updates of fund balance projections and prepare monthly reports on financial position.Collaborate with Cabinet Members (Curriculum and Instruction, Pupil Personnel Services, Staff Relations and Technology).Oversee and steward $49.9 million capital projectSupervise the Director of Facilities, Food Service Management, and the Coordinator of Transportation.Coordinate and supervise all audits (e.g., annual, internal, claims, Office of State Comptroller, or other) and prepare necessary responses and corrective action plans to governmental agencies.Facilitate the Audit and Finance Committee with the Board of Education Chairperson(s).Oversee all accounting operations including receivables, payables, payroll, general ledger, and internal control procedures.Any other responsibilities as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.REQUIREMENTS: NYS SDA and/or SDBL Certification COMPENSATION: Salary and benefits are regionally competitive.
