Director of Facilities IIIThe Somers Central School District seeks a Director of Facilities III with a start date of May, 2023. Candidates for this position must currently hold a permanent appointment as a Director of Facilities III in a New York State Public School District, or be immediately reachable on the Director of Facilities III Civil Service List. A competitive salary will be offered for the position.The Somers Central School District is located in Northern Westchester County and consists of four school buildings, totaling 750,000 square feet on approximately 77 acres of property. There are just under 3000 students in attendance. The Director of Facilities III will ensure that the facilities are properly maintained while ensuring the District remains compliant with our 5-year plan as required by the New York State Education Department. The candidate chosen for this position will possess experience with the following:• Planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and controlling economically and efficiently the many aspects of school plant administration.• Complying with legal requirements set forth by Civil Service, education law, and municipal law. Maintaining records of inventories and submitting the required reports to properly administer school buildings.• Initiating and implementing an adequate current and long range plan for the proper operation and maintenance of the school plant.• Making recommendations relating to new constructions, replacements, repairs, and modernization programs. Coordinates all work in the department.
