They act as bridge between staff, families, and the outside coordination of careThe primary responsibilities entail helping students, and their families, address issues that may include depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem, discrimination, self-harming, loss, eating disorders, adjusting to school-based challenges, drug and alcohol addictions, bullying, academic pressure, and/or adjusting to significant life transitionsThis clinician may help student’s by assessing, treating and/or supporting students suffering from serious emotional, mental/behavioral health issues. They will provide emotional support, guidance, and any resources required in order to improve social/emotional/behavioral outcomes for studentsThey will possess the skills that helps to: Connect students and families with organizations that can help themEstablish a mindful understanding of individual differences in thinking and behavior, as well as cultural and ethnic diversity Create more equitable support systems and identify structural conditions that contribute to the well-being of our students Facilitate relationships and empower others to improve their lives in a manner that engenders trust Conduct PINS petitions and follow through with any court recommendations Conduct risk assessments/threat assessments Implement preventative programs Knowledge of McKinney Vento to support students in needDedicated to supporting academic and social growth for all students ?
