ADMINISTRATIVE VACANCY JOB DESCRIPTION/TITLE: Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources – 12 Months REPORTS TO: Superintendent of SchoolsSALARY: Salary commensurate with degree, certification and experience NATURE OF WORK: This position assists the Superintendent of Schools in carrying out South Country Central School District policies and procedures relating to a variety of human resources functions. The work involves assisting in the development of programs and policies such as recruitment, staffing, operation services, employee relations, employee benefits. The Assistant Superintendent provides strategic, instructional, cultural and human resource leadership for the efficient and effective operation of the Human Resources Department throughout collaborative networking with internal and external stakeholders. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employee is responsible for planning, coordinating and evaluating the operation of theHuman Resources Department.Employee administers employee contracts – including conflict resolution, grievances,arbitrations, improper practice charges and other legal issues.Employee represents the South Country Central School District in all employee unit negotiations.Employee plans, directs, supervises and evaluates the schools’ recruitment activities andis responsible for the recruitment and hiring of all certified and non-certified personnel.Employee establishes goals and objectives for the departmentEmployee markets school district – as an employer and to local real estate agencies.
