VACANCY DIRECTOR OF GUIDANCE, COUNSELING & INSTRUCTIONAL TECHNOLOGY Posting Date: August 18, 2026 South Country Central School District anticipates an opening for a Director of Guidance, Counseling & Instructional Technology. The Director will provide districtwide leadership for K–12 guidance and counseling programs while supporting instructional technology initiatives that advance student achievement, social-emotional development, college and career readiness, the District’s Portrait of a Graduate, and effective teaching and learning. Responsibilities Provide leadership, coordination, and evaluation of K–12 guidance, counseling, social-emotional learning, and student support programs. Support implementation of the District’s Portrait of a Graduate, connecting identified competencies to counseling, college and career readiness, and instructional programming. Supervise and evaluate counselors, psychologists, social workers, and other assigned personnel in collaboration with building administrators. Collaborate with principals, Special Education, and other departments to coordinate student support and mental health services. Analyze achievement, attendance, graduation, postsecondary, and social-emotional data to evaluate programs and guide decision-making. Lead initiatives related to academic planning, student transitions, college and career readiness, and postsecondary planning. Plan and facilitate professional development related to counseling, student support, Portrait of a Graduate, and instructional technology. Provide leadership for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of instructional technology initiatives and digital learning tools. Support faculty and staff in the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning. Collaborate on the selection and implementation of instructional technology, digital platforms, equipment, and resources. Work with District technology personnel on upgrades, districtwide systems, cybersecurity, student data privacy, and Education Law §2-d compliance. Serve as a member of the District leadership team and contribute to strategic planning and continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee. Qualifications Valid New York State School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA) certification, and School Counselor required. Successful educational leadership experience; building or district-level administrative experience preferred. Experience in counseling, pupil personnel services, school psychology, social work, or related student support services preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of K–12 counseling, social-emotional learning, college and career readiness, and student support programming. Understanding of Portrait of a Graduate frameworks and their application to student programming and instruction. Demonstrated ability to supervise and evaluate professional staff and use student data to guide programming and decisions. Strong knowledge of instructional technology and its effective integration into teaching and learning. Experience supporting technology implementation, digital platforms, and professional development. Working knowledge of cybersecurity, student data privacy, and Education Law §2-d preferred. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
