The district seeks a highly motivated individual to serve as an exceptional instructional leader for Faculty, Staff and Students, and to oversee the administration, supervision, and operation of a comprehensive Middle School program. Reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools. Responsibilities:Demonstrated ability to effectively align NYS learning standards with curriculum and assessmentsSolid knowledge of the APPR process & evaluationsStrong computer skills and understand of data systemsExperience with master scheduling and the secondary levelKnowledge of effective Positive Behavior Intervention Systems (PBIS)Work cooperatively with administrators, faculty and support staffSupervise and evaluate instructional and non-instructional staff. Interview and recommend prospective instructional and non-instructional staff as openings occurFaculty and Staff Professional DevelopmentDevelopment of annual buildings goals and objectives. Promotes constructive relationships between the school district and communityPrepare and analyze student achievement data reports and make data driven decisions. Plan for continuous improvement of instruction and student achievementConduct faculty meetings and attend periodic after-school meetingsCoordinate the building activities with other buildingsWork with and be available for parents and students as needed. Serves in an advisory capacity on the coordination of activities of the school system. Establish protocols for professional learning communities and oversee its effectiveness.Experience in developing and monitoring high school budget development. Ability to implement systematic supervision. Implements the policies of the Board of Education, the regulations and directives of the Office of the Superintendent and existing employee's contracts. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or his designee. Requisites: A minimum of five (5) years of successful secondary teaching experience and three (3) years of accomplished secondary administrative experienceCandidates must demonstrate leadership ability and a willingness to devote time beyond the regular school day in the performance of responsibilities. Strong background in curriculum, instruction and evaluation.
