Varies with Coalition needs/applicant must be flexibleJob Description: COMPASS Unity Coalition is seeking a Program Director to oversee the Coalition and the Drug Free Communities Grant (DFC). This position will execute Coalition mission as well as oversee, orchestrate and assist to coordinate all Coalition planning and activities, including training, coalition communications, information dissemination, and strategies as outlined in the grant. Because South Country Central School District is the fiscal agent for COMPASS Unity Coalition, the Program Director reports directly to the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction. The Program Director ensures that all overall goals, objectives, and requirements of the Drug Free Communities grant for youth substance abuse prevention are fulfilled. Qualifications:Bachelor Degree or applicable community leadership experienceDemonstrates leadership, organizational and management abilities, including the ability to write and monitor grant-funding applications Demonstrates the ability to supervise or has supervisory experienceDemonstrates the ability to develop and implement community programs and servicesAbility to work collaboratively with diverse groups and delegate as neededAbility and proven experience in maintaining positive, effective collaboration and partnerships with a wide variety of individuals including youth agencies, business and faith communities, government officials and mediaStrong written, verbal, instruction/teaching and interpersonal skillsSkilled at program evaluation, data collection and analysisCompetent technological skills including familiarization with current social media applicationsResponsibilities:Supervise and collaborate with the Project Coordinator and Prevention Specialist to implement all facets of grant implementationDirect Coalition volunteers in prevention strategies and activitiesAttend required training sessions to understand coalition prevention work, the Strategic Prevention Framework, and keep abreast of local and national trends surrounding drug trends, behavioral health and Substance Abuse DisorderWork with each sector regarding assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of prevention and intervention initiatives and servicesCollaborate with Coalition members, community organizations and agencies to prepare grant proposals and funding applications to sustain the Coalition, related community programs and services to prevent youth from using illicit substances and engaging in underage drinkingCollaborate with local business, government, and community leaders to form working relationships to promote prevention initiativesCompile, prepare, present and submit all grant compliance reports in collaboration with Coalition staffRepresent the Coalition at community, regional, state and national forumsLead COMPASS Unity Coalition with integrity, dedication and genuine commitment to its missionEnsure ongoing programmatic excellence through rigorous program evaluation; fundraising, communications; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve strategic goals.When applying, please submit a cover letter, résumé, copy of certification(s), unofficial transcripts and a list of professional references.
