SMITHTOWN CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT OFFICE OF CERTIFIED PERSONNEL Date: March 31, 2026 Posting #: CP3005 ANNOUNCEMENT OF A VACANCY: SPEECH TEACHER - ELEMENTARY SCHOOL LONG TERM LEAVE REPLACEMENT The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Speech/Language services to a mandated caseload of students including direct student service, consultation for staff, IEP development, CSE attendance, evaluation completion and parent contact. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: New York State certification as a Speech Language Teacher, SLP/CCC Applicants must be appropriately certified prior to the start of employment DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience with various language disorders and educational disabilities including Autism, Apraxia and ADHD. Facility with IEP goal development and monitoring. Strong communication skills with parents and colleagues. Bilingual communication skills preferred.
