$140 per diem or $285 per diem for long term assignments.The Smithtown Central School District has an ongoing need throughout the District for per diem substitute teachers in all curriculum areas. Responsible for implementation of substitute lesson plans, student supervision/safety, taking attendance and student support. Substitute teachers have the ability to select assignments through the use of the Frontline Absence Management (Aesop) system.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Teacher certification required.Applicants must be appropriately certified prior to the start of employment. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Classroom teaching experience preferred.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others.Dual certification preferred (ENL, special education, literacy/reading).Bilingual communication skills preferred.Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
