The Smithtown Central School District has an ongoing need throughout the District for per diem substitute teachers in all curriculum areas. Responsible for implementation of substitute lesson plans, student supervision/safety, taking attendance and student support. Substitute teachers have the ability to select assignments through the use of the Frontline Absence Management (Aesop) system.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Teacher certification required.Applicants must be appropriately certified prior to the start of employment. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:Classroom teaching experience preferred.Demonstrated ability to work effectively and cooperatively with others.Dual certification preferred (ENL, special education, literacy/reading).Bilingual communication skills preferred.Diverse candidates are encouraged to apply.
