Date: April 3, 2024 Posting #: CP 1877 ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCIES FOR SMITHTOWN ROBOTICSBUILD SEASON ASSISTANT ADVISORS 24-25During the 2024-2025 school year, the Smithtown Robotics Team will be in need of two Build Season Assistant Advisors. These positions will require the applicants to attend 15 hours per week during the build season. The build season will begin the first week in January and will continue through the first week of March. Meetings are held at High School East from 2:30PM - 7:30PM, Monday - Friday during the build season. In addition, the applicants will be expected to attend competition season events. The team competes in two Regional events and may qualify for World Championships. These events are generally held Thursday - Saturday during the months of March and April.Applicants must: Have knowledge of a variety of materials, experience with tools, machines and processing of materials.Have knowledge of electronics, computer programming and pneumatics.Have knowledge of public relations and business management.Demonstrate leadership and management skills in a large group setting.Have a willingness to learn all aspects of the team, including business and engineering.Communicate effectively with high school aged students and adults.Follow directions and delegate responsibilities.Work calmly under pressure.Assist the advisor/assistant advisor as needed.Supervise students and mentors during the build season.Have a background in Engineering and Technology.Knowledge and experience with FIRST Robotics.Completion of all District required items for employment.TITLE: Build Season Assistant AdvisorSALARY: $2,000 Stipend/per advisorLOCATION: HSE/HSWEFFECTIVE: 9/1/2024APPLICATION DEADLINE: 4/16/2024Interested internal candidates must apply through the internal electronic submission system using their Smithtown Central School District Google account ONLY..
