Job Description: Student and Family Engagement CoordinatorReports to: Superintendent of Schools This position is a 10-month, grant funded, individual contract position based on the school year calendar with 20 days of summer work to be scheduled at the discretion of the Superintendent, or designee. The length of the workday will vary due to accommodating necessary work with students and their families. Typical work day hours are 8:00am - 4:00pm but will include up to 10 flex hours per week outside of the school day (potential work days may include evenings, weekend, summer or school vacation weeks). These hours may be used for professional development, student or family support, community work, crisis support and/or necessary administrative duties. Schedule may be modified with prior administrative approval and planning. Job Description: The Student and Family Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the student and family engagement strategy, including building and maintaining relationships with administration, faculty, staff, and students during the traditional school day; creating, strengthening, and maintaining the bridge between the school, families and the community in the efforts of promoting student success; facilitating and providing leadership for the collaborative process and the support of a continuum of services for student success in academics, attendance, and social-emotional development as well as working with the Superintendent of Schools to achieve and maintain Community School status.A strong focus on student success, maintaining confidentiality of student records, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, faculty/staff, families and community partners are key elements of this position. Successful applicants must demonstrate a high regard for their fiduciary responsibilities, as grant writing and managing grant funds are in the purview of this position.
