Job Title: English Language Learner (ELL) Teacher PreK-12Location: Schroon Lake Central School, Schroon Lake, NYJob Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and passionate ELL Teacher to join our team, providing English language support to students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in English language instruction and a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This role requires effective communication, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to adapt instruction to meet the unique needs of ELL students.Key Responsibilities:Develop and deliver targeted English language lessons that address the listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills of ELL students.Conduct assessments to monitor and evaluate language proficiency and academic progress.Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate language development strategies across content areas.Provide individualized and small-group support to students based on their language proficiency levels.Use data-driven methods to plan, deliver, and adapt instruction for maximum student engagement and growth.Support and communicate with families to promote involvement in their children’s language development and school success.Maintain accurate records, including progress reports, assessments, and compliance documentation as required by NYS regulations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Education, TESOL, Linguistics, or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.New York State Teaching Certification in TESOL (K-12) or an appropriate certification for working with ELL students.Prior experience in teaching English Language Learners, preferably in a PreK-12 setting.Strong understanding of language acquisition theories, culturally responsive teaching, and differentiated instruction.Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.Additional Information:Position Type: Based on student needs Salary: Commensurate with experience and district pay scaleBenefits: Health, dental, retirement, and professional development opportunitiesTo Apply: Please submit a resume, cover letter, and three references via
