The Skaneateles Central School District invites candidates to apply for the School Guard position.Description:The School Guard shall perform duties as prescribed by the Civil Service specification published by the Onondaga County Personnel Department for the position. The Superintendent of Schools or his designee may prescribe additional duties, responsibilities, and work assignments for the Guard insofar as such duties are consistent with the Civil Service specification for the position. Such additional duties shall include coordinating and overseeing the implementation of required district safety and security training; coordinating safety and security initiatives with local, county, and state police; and coordinating parent safety meetings. Job Duties:Closes or locks doors, windows or fire doors according to prescribed routines, to deter criminal activity or accidental lossExamines doors, windows, gates and locks to determine their securityWatches for and reports irregularities to designated personnelGives directions or answers questions for visitors to assist them in locating their destination or informing them of pertinent informationMay assist in crowd control at special events Qualifications:Candidate must have experience working in law enforcement or retired duty from local, county or state police forceSalary: $40 per hourApplication Deadline: May 19, 2023In addition to applying on OLAS, please send an application which is found on our website: www.skanschools.org along with resume and a letter of interest to:Natalie Andrianos45 E.
