ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENTFOR HUMAN RESOURCES Responsibilities:Serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Cabinet and the Administrative Team.Maintain a personnel record system for all certificated and civil service staff in order to provide a comprehensive, efficient, accurate and current record of all matters pertinent to employment, including transfer, tenure, retirement, leaves, health, attendance, certification and salary.Attend Board of Education meetings and prepare reports for the Board as requested by the Superintendent.Plan, direct and coordinate the certificated staff and civil service staff recruitment.Coordinate and administer all benefits in conjunction with collective bargaining agreements, individual contracts and non-unit members.Participate in the budget development process. Work with administrative and supervisory personnel in the improvement of individual staff competencies.Observe non-tenured teaching staff.Serve as a member of the negotiating team during negotiations with the recognized bargaining units.Assist the school attorney, where appropriate, in all other matters of litigation or in cases of complaints to Local, State and Federal agencies.Coordinate the processing of employee grievances.Prepare and update bargaining unit seniority lists.Respond to reference requests and verify employment, credit, and salary data for all staff.Coordinate the issuance of all annual salary notices to certificated and civil service employees, approve notices and salary changes for district employees.Participate in local and state organizations related to school personnel management.Prepare reports required by the Superintendent, Board of Education, the State Education Department, and other agencies of government, including, but not limited to: Personnel Reports, Department of Labor, EEOC, SSEC, BEDS, ACA, Enrollment, Staffing, Staff Snapshot, Worker’s Compensation Injuries, and Unemployment.Serve as the District Clerk Pro-Tem, Hearing Officer for Superintendent’s Suspension Hearings, Title IX Compliance Officer, DASA Coordinator, Residency Officer, and Records Access Officer responsible for processing and responding to all FOIL requests.Review and approve or deny in-service and graduate courses for salary advancement of certificated staff.Act as the liaison for the Employee Assistance Program.Supervise the Coordinator of Adult Education and Community Programs and nurses districtwide.Serve as a member of the BOE Legislative Committee and the BOE Policy Committee to review and revise existing policies and administrative regulations.Perform tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Superintendent may assign.Deadline: Close of Business January 5, 2026Effective Date: July 1, 2026Salary: Commensurate with ExperienceSubmit letter of interest to: Brian Heyward, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources via OLAS at https://olasjobs.org or e-mail to bheyward@swr.k12.ny.us
