The Seaford Union Free School District has the following opening: Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services (Pre-K-8) Effective: July 1, 2026 Qualifications: · Appropriate administrative certifications (New York State SDL or SDA) · Knowledgeable experience with effective instruction, curricula and teaching materials and resources · Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others · Minimum of ten (10) years successful experience as a teacher, related field, or school administration · Ability to provide effective supervision and evaluation of employees · Ability to analyze data and present findings Responsibilities: 1. Acts as district-wide CPSE/CSE chairperson; responsible for chairing CSE/CPSE meetings, including grades Pre-K-8 & out-of-district meetings 2. Coordinates special education services and student support services in district and at St. William the Abbot 3. Responsible for the development and maintenance of all documentation relating to CSE/CPSE meetings and processes 4. Facilitates parent intake and team meetings for students 5. Coordinates, develops & delivers professional development for instructional staff, related service providers, mental health staff, and aides 6. Coordinates developmentally appropriate SEL programming and district initiatives 7. Provides instructional support & leadership to teaching staff to foster effective pedagogical practices & instructional strategies within the classroom for students with specific disabilities and behavior disorders across all educational settings Pre-K-8 8. Facilitates regular department meetings for Pre-K-8 PPS staff 9. Coordinates and supervises Extended School Year (ESY) and Summer School special education programming 10. Observes and evaluates Pre K-8 PPS staff 11. Work with building administration on the hiring, coordination, and evaluation of instructional aides across the district 12. Attends SEPTA meetings & collaborates with the organization to bring in speakers, plan events, & facilitate parent workshops 13. Coordinates NYSAA testing and training for staff, in-district and out of district students 14. Coordinates 3-8 State testing for out-of-district and resident students 15. Coordinates Out-of-District (OOD) placements and related services 16. Coordinates outside provider agencies and related services Pre-K-8 17. Coordinates and supports elementary and middle school special education programming and services 18. Works collaboratively with building administrators, faculty, staff, parents, outside agencies, and community members to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services to students 19. Serves as administrative liaison for Northwell Partnership, BOCES Mental Health Consortium & district wellness initiatives 20. Coordinate and support district mental health initiatives and supports related to PPS services 21. Serves as Part 154 Liaison for students with disabilities 22. Performs such additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director for Student Support Services 23.
