VACANCY The Seaford Union Free School District has the following opening: Executive Director for Humanities K-12 Effective: July 1, 2025 Qualifications: · Appropriate administrative certifications (New York State SDL or SDA) · Knowledgeable experience with ELA, ENL, Social Studies, World Languages · Effective communications skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others · Minimum of ten (10) years successful experience as a teacher and related field or school administration · Ability to provide effective supervision and evaluation of employees · Ability to analyze data and present findings Supervises: · English Language Arts Teachers/Teacher Liaison · Social Studies Teachers/Teacher Liaison · World Language and ENL Teachers/K-12 Lead Teacher World Languages ENL Responsibilities: Possesses strong curricula knowledge in Humanities disciplines Monitors and oversees the various curricula for the English Language Arts, ENL, Social Studies, and World Language departments Stays abreast of the latest developments in pedagogy and best instructional practices regarding English Language Arts, ENL, Social Studies, and World Languages, and disseminates this information to all staff members of the specific departments Ensures that curricula and instructional materials are aligned to the New York State Learning Standards and Next Generation Learning Standards Ensures all teachers have a comprehensive understanding of the New York State Learning Standards and Next Generation Learning Standards Holds monthly department meetings, in collaboration with Lead Teacher, Coordinator and Teacher Liaisons, for the English Language Arts, ENL, Social Studies, and World Language departments Assists instructional staff with methodology and pedagogy that will lead to continued growth and student engagement and achievement Assists building administration in the supervision and evaluation of the English Language Arts, ENL, Social Studies, and World Language teachers Oversees and monitors the scoring of all State mandated tests and departmental examinations in the specific six subject areas and provides reports of results On-Line Applications Only www.olasjobs.org/nassau Deadline: Friday, February 7, 2025
