The Scotia-Glenville Central School District is anticipating a full-time, probationary position for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Language Therapist (SLT) starting June 1, 2025. The position follows the 10-month school calendar and is at Lincoln Elementary School.Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Speech/Language Pathology New York State Professional Licensure: Speech and Language Disabilities Initial or Professional Certificate or Speech and Hearing Handicapped Permanent Certificate ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferredResponsibilities include the following: Completes in-depth diagnostic evaluations of students’ speech, language, and communication abilities Presents a comprehensive analysis of students’ communication abilities and needs Develops and implements effective goals, techniques and lessons The SLP/SLT provides individual and group speech and language therapy for communication disorders, including functional communication, augmentative and alternative communication, oral-motor skills, speech and language development. Incorporates available technology (software, adaptive equipment, AAC devices) to maximize students’ potential Provides weekly whole group push-in speech lessons within kindergarten classroom to address developmentally appropriate language and articulation skills Works with students and their families holistically Trains team members in the application of techniques Follows students’ IEP to plan and implement speech and language activities, monitor student progress, and provide IEP updates during the school year.
