The Scotia-Glenville Central School District has a full-time, leave replacement position for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) or Speech Language Therapist (SLT) from approximately September 27, 2024 to April 9, 2025. The position is at Scotia-Glenville High School working with special education students primarily in a co-teaching model with the self-contained special education teacher in the 15:1:1, 12:1:1, and 12:1:3 (life skills) classrooms. Job responsibilities also include individual and/or group speech therapy per the Individualized Education Plan (IEP).Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree from a regionally accredited college or university in Speech/Language Pathology New York State Professional Licensure: Speech and Language Disabilities Initial or Professional Certificate or Speech and Hearing Handicapped Permanent Certificate ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence preferredResponsibilities also include but are not limited to the following: Completes in-depth diagnostic evaluations of students’ speech, language, and communication abilities Presents a comprehensive analysis of students’ communication abilities and needs Develops and implements effective goals, techniques and lessons The SLP/SLT provides individual and group speech and language therapy for communication disorders, including functional communication, augmentative and alternative communication, oral-motor skills, speech and language development. Incorporates available technology (software, adaptive equipment, AAC devices) to maximize students’ potential Trains team members in the application of techniques Follows students’ IEP to plan and implement speech and language activities, monitor student progress, and provide IEP updates during the school year.
