The Scotia-Glenville Central School District (SGCSD) is accepting applications for a full-time, 10-month, probationary Special Education Teacher. The position is at Scotia-Glenville Middle School and involves working with 7th and 8th grade students in a resource room setting. Anticipated start date of October 1, 2023. Job responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to the following: - Plan lessons that align with the state standards and designated curriculum framework.- Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers, parents, and community providers to understand and meet the needs of students.- Analyze multiple data sets to inform instruction and decisions regarding educational programing.- Progress monitor IEP goals by providing differentiated instruction, delivering interventions with fidelity collecting and analyzing data, and monitoring students' response to the interventions.- Manage student behavior through de-escalation strategies and positive behavioral supports.- Follow all district policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.Minimum Qualifications: New York State Certification in Special Education either Students with Disabilities 5-9 Generalist, Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist or Students with Disabilities K-12. Dual certification and/or Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) in core subject areas is desirable.
