The Scotia-Glenville Central School District (SGCSD) has a long-term leave opening for a special education teacher at Scotia Glenville High School. The schedule consists of Integrated Co-Teaching Global 9, Integrated Co-Teaching English 10, and Resource Room. Additional job responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to the following:Collaborate with the general education teacher to plan instruction for all students in the classroom, paying particular attention to the Specially Designed Instructional needs of students with disabilitiesContribute to and plan lessons that align with the state standards and designated curriculum frameworkCollaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers, parents, and community providers to understand and meet the needs of studentsAnalyze multiple data sets to inform instruction and decisions regarding educational programmingProgress monitor IEP goals by providing differentiated instruction, delivering interventions with fidelity, collecting and analyzing data, and monitoring students’ response to the interventionsManage student behavior through de-escalation strategies and positive behavioral supportsFollow all district policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.Minimum Qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education either Students with Disabilities 7-12 Generalist or Students with Disabilities K-12. Dual certification and/or Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) in core subject areas is desirable.
