Required and Preferred QualificationsThe ideal candidate should possess the following characteristics.Experience in educational leadership including instructional best practices, curriculum development, NYS Learning Standards, and assessment.A collaborative, creative leader who values diversity, equity, and inclusion.Focused on enhancing students’ academic, social, and emotional learning.Team-oriented with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.Able to demonstrate the ability to work productively with students, parents, staff, colleagues, community residents and the Board of Education.Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and presentation skills.The successful candidate must possess professional certification, a Master’s degree and New York State certification as a School District Administrator or School District Leader. A minimum of ten years of public school and administrative experience is preferred.Responsibilities include:Lead, supervise, and coordinate the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning K-12. Direct and supervise the District's opportunities and programs for Advanced Learners, English Language Learners, Response to Intervention, and Academic Intervention Services.Determine appropriate assessments to provide data on student achievement, to include benchmark assessments, and analyze/summarize student performance on district-adopted assessments. Support administrators and teachers to effectively use student performance data for sharing best practices and improving student learning.Direct/supervise/coordinate the district testing program including New York State assessments, local assessments, and local end of course/end of year assessments.Determine, plan, and implement professional development K-12.Oversee and approve professional development processes and requests.In collaboration with administrators, supervise and evaluate teachers on a regular basis in accordance with the District’s Annual Professional Performance Review (APPR) Plan. APPR data collection, reporting and verificationDevelop and share informational presentations and participate in collaborative conversations with the Board of Education, administrators, parents and the community. Supervise the budget, procurement and delivery of instructional supplies and equipment. Participate in the Central Office cabinet; develop short-term and annual district goals with aligned resources.Student Information System management and coordination.Data collection, verification, and reporting as required by New York State Education Department and The Federal Department of Education mandates (NYS Data Warehouse).Coordinate the completion of grants and reports for programs funded by New York State, federal, or other agencies, including the writing and administering of all Title grants.Oversee technology specialists, reading teachers and ENL teachers.Act as McKinney - Vento Homeless Liaison, Foster Care Liaison, Title IX Coordinator and Student Records Officer.Act as Deputy in the absence of the Superintendent.Perform such additional duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent.Employment InformationThree-year Probationary AppointmentIndividual Contract12 Month Work YearSalary Commensurate with ExperienceExcellent Benefits PackageTo apply, submit cover letter, resume and copies of certification(s), transcripts, and letters of reference through OLAS by close of business Friday, April 21, 2023.
