Staff Supervision and Evaluation: Evaluate and supervise teachers as assigned by the administrator responsible for APPR. Direct supervisory assignments for all staff members (Teachers, Teaching Assistants, Aides, Monitors). Share responsibility for:recruitment and hiring of certificated and non-certificated staff.supervision and evaluation of certificated and non-certificated staff.recommendations regarding the granting or continuance of tenure, as directed by the Principal. Oversee the orientation of new staff members and substitute teachers. Approve the assignment of Teaching Assistants as substitutes during the instructional day. Supervise and evaluate clerical personnel assigned to the Assistant Principal’s office. School Climate, Student Safety and Discipline: Assist the Principal in the supervision of all school sponsored activities.Share the supervision of the building with the Principal until 4:00 pm daily.Communicate with parents/guardians of students to build positive relationships.Organize and direct an effective program of student management.Maintain and revise the high school Code of Conduct through shared decision making.Direct student attendance procedures, including investigations of illegal absence andtruancy in accordance with state law and district policies and regulations. Co-facilitate emergency drills with the administrative team. Recommend consequences (or the suspension) of students for disruptive behavior. Conduct parent conferences for pending disciplinary actions. Recommend referrals to Family Court and work with Probation and/or CPS. Represent the District in PINS-related matters for students. Supervise the unloading / loading of school buses. Administrative Responsibilities: Share supervision of high school programs and activities with the Principal. Meet regularly with the High School Admin Leadership Team. Create and oversee the scheduling of final examinations, NYS assessments and AP Exams. Attend Student Support, 504 Plan, and CSE meetings as needed. Facilitate after-school tutoring and home instruction. Update and amend Faculty Handbook with the Principal. Analyze and compile data for high school, state, and federal reports as directed by the Principal. Review student progress reports and report cards. Attend and supervise at various student events such as concerts, athletic events, prom etc., as assigned by the Principal. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Principal.
