The Scotia-Glenville Central School District has a full-time, probationary opening for a CPSE/CSE Chairperson. This newly created position will primarily oversee preschool, elementary, and students placed in nonpublic, BOCES, and private schools. Full Time, 10-month position with anticipated summer days.Required Qualifications:NYS certification as Special Education Teacher, or School Psychologist, or Related Service ProviderNYS Certification as School Building Leader/School Building Administrator/School District Administrator certification will be consideredMinimum of five years of experience in the field of special education Knowledge of federal and NYS laws, regulations, and mandates as they apply to special education services including Part 200 and 201 regulationsCSE experience with the development and implementation of IEPsStrong leadership, collaboration, organizational, written and communication skills Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Serve as chairperson for CPSE/CSE meetings including but not limited to annual reviews, transfers, reevaluation, program and manifestation determination reviewsCollaborate with building principals, program directors, and educational teams regarding student’s functioning in program and resources for continued growthProvide assistance to the Director of Special Education to assure quality implementation and delivery of special education services and accommodations as recommended by the CPSE or CSECoordinate continuum of services and least restrictive environment based on the student population, including ongoing evaluation of existing programs in collaboration with Director of Special EducationPerforms other duties as assigned by the Director of Special EducationInterested candidates can submit a completed application, cover letter, resume and three letters of recommendation by uploading materials to www.olasjobs.org.
