Leave Replacement School Psychologist:Seeking a school psychologist who has experience K-12, and who demonstrates strongcommunication skills, and courageous leadership qualities. The ideal candidate will haveexperience with the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model and be able to maintain theefficient systems found within the Schenectady City School District MTSS framework. Thiscandidate will have the ability to use a culturally responsive approach within a Committee onSpecial Education (CSE meeting) to develop relationships and provide guidance to schoolteams on how to execute interventions with fidelity; as well as demonstrate empathy towardsothers by caring, understanding, and cultivating an empowering environment for all students,staff and families. They will also have the necessary skills to support the evaluation of studentsas a way to make impartial, data driven decisions on behalf of said students and families. Professional Responsibilities and Expectations:* Have a thorough understanding of and desire to work with culturally diverse children,parents, teachers, and school personnel in a mid-size urban setting;* Possess a thorough understanding of how to collect, interpret and analyze building levelacademic and behavioral data as a means of informing the school based support teams(SBST) under the MTSS model, as well as apply individual student data to informconversations for Tier 3 interventions.* Complete psychoeducational assessments for a small caseload of students; as well ason an as needed basis across the school district.* Possess strong dynamic assessment skills in order to support the psychoeducationalevaluation of students on an as needed basis* Possess a strong understanding of intervention design and evaluation of programs tomeet a student’s academic, behavioral, and emotional needs;* Support and facilitate CSE meetings districtwide;* Collaborate with the Special Education Administration on appropriate programmingdecisions for students in the least restrictive environment;* Possess a strong knowledge of IDEA, NYS regulations, and expertise in supportingstudents with diverse needs;* Assist families through ongoing communication and support around IDEA regulationsand NYSED Part 200 & 201;* Support colleagues in understanding the legal requirements and IDEA regulations andNYSED Part 200 & 201;* Consult and collaborate with other school psychologists on CSE meetings,psychoeducational evaluations and student planning;* Monitor and assist providers with IEP writing and development;* Attend and participate in the District Level CSE Review Committee;* Perform other tasks as assigned. Job QualificationsMinimum QualificationsEducational requirements: NYS certification as a School Psychologist is required;Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university; CSE experience preferred; Experience working in schools and with children preferred.
