The principal collaborates with parents, community members, the SCSD central office, consultants, as well as other internal/external resources and stakeholders to implement new educational programs, capital improvements, systems reform, tools and other resources to accelerate student achievement. EDUCATIONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of five years building level administrative experience requiredAdditional District level administrative experience preferredMinimum 3 years urban teaching experience preferably in STEAM related content areaDoctoral Degree in Education preferredStrong belief that all students can learn at high levels and focus on building this culture school-wideProven experience in STEAM and CTE curriculum development and school design.Proven experience leading urban schools focusing on CTE and STEAM to accelerate student academic and learning performanceEstablishes a safe school culture that is conducive to student needs and student learningFamiliar with school-level best practices to build and sustain changeDeep knowledge of current trends and best practices in STEAM and CTE education policy and research, including comprehensive assessment systems and data-driven instructionExperienced in successful design and delivery of educator professional development especially in the area of STEAM.Proven success in conducting rigorous evaluations of educator and school staff performanceProven experience managing school budgets and financeTraining and or experience with Culturally Relevant Education (preferred)Prior demonstration of exemplary attendance is expected of any candidate for hire.City Residents are encouraged to apply!
