Probationary 1.0 Special Education Teacher (Self-Contained) at Elementary Level (Grades K-4) for 2023-2024 at Forest Park Elementary School.Start Date: September 1, 2023.The educator will be responsible for teaching groups of students with a range of disabilities. The selected candidate will develop, monitor and adjust instruction to promote the growth of our students which includes their intellectual, emotional, social and physical well-being. Additionally, the successful candidate must demonstrate unquestionable integrity, understand the value of culturally responsive instructional practices and have a firm belief in the potential of all students.General Requirements:Our ideal candidate should have;NYS Permanent Special Education or NYS Professional in Students with Disabilities Certification.Candidates who posses other teaching certificates, in addition to special education are preferred.Master's degree required.Familiarity and experience providing instruction and support for students with emotional disabilities and/or behavioral challenges.Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole.
