(1) Probationary Supervisor of Special Education Grades 5-8 for 2023-2024Please be informed that applications are now being accepted for the following anticipated position:Anticipated Probationary Administrator Opening - (1) 1.0 Supervisor of Special Education - Middle School Level (Grades 5-8) for 2023-2024Location: To be determinedStart Date: July 1, 2023Seeking an Administrator to join in a leadership role in administrative and special services, which support the instructional program for the 2023-2024 school year.General Requirements/Responsibilities:NYS Certification as a School District Administrator (SDA), School Administrator and Supervisor (SAS), School Business Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL). NYS Certification in the area of Pupil Services (Special Education Teacher, or an associated area of related services) is preferred.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Special Education.Possess string knowledge of federal and state regulations (NYS Part 200, 203), related to special education.Possess strong written, verbal, organizational and leadership skills.Knowledge of Learning Standards, supporting students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment and experience with differentiated instruction and co-teach practices is preferred.Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with parents, staff and administration is also essential to the role.Support middle school age special education programs and services, chairing CPSE/CSE and sub-CSE meetings, assist in coordination and conducting of annual review meetings. Support in the development of the Middle School Pupil Services Team (PST) calendar of meetings for each building and in the facilitation of those meetings.Assist in the hiring and interviewing process as well as planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating and evaluating the instructional programs so as to ensure ongoing improvement.Assists the Principal in providing educational leadership and overseeing overall management of the school.Salary and Benefits:According to the South Colonie Administrators' Contract - base salary of at least $92,500.00 depending on experience and transcripts.
