POSITION TITLE: SUB/LONG-TERM SUB MUSIC TEACHER-BAND REPORTING TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL The South Colonie School District is seeking a HS Music Teacher (band) Grades 9-12 to fill a substitute/long-term substitute position at the High School level beginning January 3, 2023. OPENING: (1) Music (Band) Teacher-High School (Grades 9-12) START DATE: January 3, 2023 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Our ideal candidates should have; Music Teacher NYS Certification. Effective communication skills to engage students, parents, colleagues and the school community as a whole. The ability and knowledge to play band instruments, teach music lessons, work on NYSSMA solos and prepare for concerts. Strong classroom management skills. Experience in instrumental music (band) is preferred. SALARY & BENEFITS:Per diem substitute for 20 days, then long term substitute on Schedule and Step per the South Colonie Teachers’ Association Contract.
