Location: Sayville High SchoolPosition: Full-time Probationary Spanish TeacherSalary: Per STA ContractQualifications: Spanish 7-12 certificationSayville Public Schools is seeking a student-centered Probationary High School Spanish Teacher committed to engaging students in meaningful, proficiency-based language learning aligned with the New York State Learning Standards for World Languages.Responsibilities:Design and deliver engaging, communicative Spanish instruction for high school students using student-centered and culturally responsive practicesCreate a supportive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student voice, collaboration, and active participationImplement proficiency-based instructional strategies aligned with NYS World Language StandardsUse formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructionDifferentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Foster authentic language use through interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational modes of communicationDemonstrate strong classroom management and positive relationship-building skillsCollaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and support staffParticipate in professional learning, school initiatives, and departmental collaborationApplication Process: Sayville Schools is anticipating a vacancy as noted above.
