Location: Sayville High School Position: Full Time Guidance Counselor- Leave Replacement Salary: $135 per day plus long term differentials Qualifications: NYS Certified as a School Counselor Sayville School District is seeking a dedicated and experienced High School Counselor with a strong background in college and career counseling at the high school level to serve as a leave replacement for one of our counselors from on or about March 1 through on or about May 11. The ideal candidate will have high school experience in college and career counseling and post-secondary transition coordination and will be committed to supporting students with diverse backgrounds, learning modalities, and social-emotional needs. This role requires strong communication skills and collaboration with the Office of Pupil Personnel Services, building administration, and instructional staff to support student success. Responsibilities include: Provide academic, college, career, and social-emotional counseling support to high school students Assist students with course selection, career exploration, and post-secondary planning Support transition services and student goal-setting in collaboration with students and families Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and opportunities Collaborate with building administration, teachers, the Office of Pupil Personnel Services, and the Special Education Department Assist with the registration and orientation of new students Research and disseminate information related to educational, career, and occupational opportunities Application Process: Sayville Schools is anticipating a vacancy as noted above.
