Sayville Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Library Media Specialist to lead our school library program at Lincoln Avenue Elementary. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading, support curriculum and instructional goals, and integrate emerging technologies into teaching and learning. This role combines library management, instructional support, and digital resource leadership.Key Responsibilities:Curate and maintain a diverse, up-to-date library collection (print and digital)Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction and research projectsInstruct students in information literacy, research skills, and digital citizenshipManage library operations, including scheduling, circulation, and budgetingPromote a culture of reading through programs, events, and displaysMaintain and troubleshoot educational technology tools and media equipmentProvide instruction that advances technology use within the library, including video announcements and Technology Club activitiesProvide leadership in integrating technology and digital resources across curriculaEnsure the library is a welcoming, inclusive, and innovative learning space Qualifications: Valid NYS teaching certificate with Library Media Specialist endorsement (or eligibility)Master’s degree in Library Science, Library Media, or a related field (preferred)Experience working with elementary students in a library or educational setting (preferred)Strong knowledge of information literacy, digital tools, and instructional collaborationExcellent communication, collaboration, and instructional skillsAbility to foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environmentStrong organizational and multitasking skills Application Process: We invite interested candidates to submit a cover letter and resume through OLAS- Online Application System http://www.olasjobs.org as soon as possible but no later than January 30, 2026.
