The Sayville School District is seeking a student-centered, experienced educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal of Sayville High School. The successful candidate will inspire professional and support staff, uphold high academic and behavioral standards, and ensure that all students have meaningful opportunities for academic achievement and personal growth. The Assistant Principal reports directly to the Principal and works collaboratively with the administrative team, faculty, staff, students, families, and the broader Sayville community. Prior administrative experience preferred.Qualifications and Responsibilities include:Demonstrated successful experience in a school-based administrative role, preferably at the secondary levelAccept responsibility, as delegated by the Principal, for the administration, supervision, and daily operation of the high schoolUnderstand and support the academic, social, and developmental needs of high school students, including the seamless inclusion of students with disabilities (SWDs) in all aspects of school lifePossess comprehensive knowledge of high school curriculum, instructional methodologies, adolescent development, and the New York State Learning StandardsSupport instructional improvement through classroom observations, feedback, and collaboration with teachers and staffDemonstrate an effective, engaged leadership style that promotes a positive school culture and high expectations for students and staffFoster collaboration among professional and support staff, encourage innovation, and build a strong professional learning communityDevelop, implement, and manage the master schedule and student information system/database, in consultation with the PrincipalCollect, organize, and analyze assessment and performance data to support data-driven educational decision makingAssist in the development and administration of the building budget to maximize available resources.Communicate effectively with students, staff, families, and community members, demonstrating strong written, interpersonal, and public-speaking skillsCollaborate effectively with the administrative team and the Board of EducationRepresent the school at building, district, and community eventsMaintain active involvement in relevant professional organizations and remain current with best practices in school leadershipDemonstrate leadership, flexibility, and a willingness to devote time beyond the regular school day in the performance of responsibilitiesKnowledge of the Sayville School District and community preferred General Information & Salary: Sayville High School is a grade 9-12 high school, with approximately 850 students and over 100 staff members.? This is an 11-month position.
