Sayville High School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered Library Media Specialist to lead our school library program. The ideal candidate will foster a love of reading, support curriculum and instructional goals, and integrate emerging technologies into teaching and learning. This role combines library management, instructional support, and digital resource leadership.Key Responsibilities:• Curate and maintain a diverse, up-to-date library collection (print and digital)• Collaborate with teachers to support classroom instruction and research projects• Instruct students in information literacy, research skills, and digital citizenship• Manage library operations, including scheduling, circulation, and budgeting• Promote a culture of reading through programs, events, and displays• Maintain and troubleshoot educational technology tools and media equipment• Provide leadership in integrating technology and digital resources across curricula• Ensure the library is a welcoming, inclusive, and innovative learning spaceQualifications:• Valid NYS teaching certificate with Library Media Specialist endorsement (or eligibility)• Master’s degree in Library Science, Library Media, or a related field (preferred)• Experience working with high school students in a library or educational setting (preferred)• Strong knowledge of information literacy, digital tools, and instructional collaboration• Excellent communication, collaboration, and instructional skills• Ability to foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment• Strong organizational and multitasking skillsApplication Process: We invite interested candidates to submit a cover letter and resume through OLAS as soon as possible but no later than July 1, 2025.
