Response to Intervention (RTI) Specialist (Anticipated)Location: All Elementary Schools Position: Response to Intervention (RTI) Specialist (Probationary Teacher Position)Salary: As per STA contract Start Date: September 1, 2023 Job Description:The RTI Specialist is responsible for leading and coordinating the Response to Intervention (RTI) program in the elementary schools. The coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that the RTI process is implemented with fidelity and effectiveness, resulting in improved student outcomes. The RTI Specialist will work closely with teachers, administrators, and support staff to facilitate the delivery of evidence-based interventions to struggling students.Responsibilities:•Develop and implement a comprehensive RTI program that aligns with state and federal guidelines, district policies, and best practices•Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify students who are at risk of academic, behavioral, or social-emotional challenges•Provide ongoing professional development to teachers and staff on the RTI process and evidence-based interventions•Monitor student progress through data analysis - make adjustments to interventions as needed•Develop and maintain accurate records of student progress, interventions, and outcomes•Coordinate with parents and outside agencies as needed to provide student and families support•Collaborate with the special education department to ensure that the RTI process is integrated with the special education process•Stay up-to-date on current research, trends, and legislation related to RTIRequirements:•NYS Elementary Ed certification-additional literacy or special education certification preferred•Teaching experience working with students who struggle academically or behaviorally•Knowledge of RTI best practices, evidence-based interventions, and data analysis•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail•Ability to lead and facilitate professional development for teachers and staff•Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and support staff•Experience with using technology to manage and analyze data Application Process: Sayville School District is anticipating a vacancy as noted above.
