Elementary STEAM/Enrichment Teacher (Anticipated) Location: Cherry Avenue Elementary School Position: Elementary STEAM/Enrichment Teacher (Probationary)Salary: As per STA contract Start Date: September 1, 2023 Job Description:We are seeking a passionate and innovative Elementary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Teacher to join our team. As an Elementary STEAM Teacher, you will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging STEAM lessons to students in grades K-5. You will collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate STEAM concepts into the curriculum and help students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity skills. In addition, you will work with students identified for enrichment one day a week. Emphasis will be on meeting the needs of students who demonstrate high levels of ability, commitment, and creativity.Responsibilities:•Develop and deliver engaging STEAM lessons to students in grades K-5•Plan/facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences that integrate STEAM concepts•Collaborate with other teachers/staff to integrate STEAM concepts into the curriculum•Assess student learning and adjust teaching strategies as needed to meet the student needs•Use technology to enhance student learning and engagement•Foster a positive/inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and creativity•Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide updates on student progress and encourage parental involvement in STEAM education•Provide enrichment activities for students with high levels of ability in grades 4 & 5Requirements:•NYS Elementary Ed certification - Additional Math, Science, or Tech certification preferred•Demonstrated experience teaching STEAM concepts to elementary students•Strong communication and collaboration skills•Experience with technology and its use in the classroom•Passion for STEAM education and a desire to inspire students to pursue careers in STEAM fields Application Process: Application Process: Sayville School District is anticipating a vacancy as noted above.
