Sayville High School Assistant Principal - AnticipatedStart Date: January 3, 2023 Certification Requirement: NYSED – SAS, SDL or SBL Sayville School District is seeking a child centered, instructional leader who can inspire professional and support staff to maintain the highest standards for our high school so as to provide the best opportunities for our students’ academic and personal growth. Prior administrative experience preferred. Candidates must have/be able to: A dynamic, high energy leadership style with a successful background in secondary building administrationUnderstand and appreciate the academic, social, and developmental needs of high school age children; as well as be sensitive to the need to seamlessly integrate SWDs into all aspects of the schoolComprehensive knowledge of high school curriculum, instructional methodology, and development of young adolescentsA thorough understanding of the New York State Learning StandardsFoster collaboration among the professional staff, provide professional materials and staff development, encourage innovation; and build a sense of professional communityCapacity to build/develop master schedule and manage the student information databaseCreate schedules for non-instructional staffExpertise with the collection and use of data for educational decision makingDevelop and administer a budget that maximizes the benefits of available resourcesAbility to communicate effectively with excellent written and public speaking skillsKnowledge of the Sayville School District and communityCollaborate with the administrative team and Board of EducationBe an active member of professional associationsGeneral Information & Salary: Sayville High School is a grade 9-12 high school, with approximately 895 students and over 100 staff members.
