Position: Professional Development Coordinator (K-12) - Internal OnlyEffective: July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026Salary: Stipend as per the STA ContractRequirements: Must be a certified teacher.Internal candidates should email their letter of interest to akerr@saugerties.k12.ny.usJob DescriptionWorks with the Director of Curriculum and Instruction and Professional Practices Committee to identify, develop, and carry out professional development in the District. Essential Functions:Support District Goals and Strategic Plan.Coordinate and assist in the design and implementation of the district’s Professional Development Plan. Coordinate an effective and compliant process to assist in the professional development needs of the teachers as identified by performance evaluations and school administrators. Maintain data on professional development.Create surveys to identify professional development needs of all school staff.Provides input to and/or attends District Leadership Meetings.Facilitates standard based Professional Development that is aligned to or PD Plan.Additional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other Administrators as designated by the Superintendent. It is not meant to be all-inclusive of every task or responsibility.EquipmentUse standard office equipment such as personal computers, Google Suite, printer, and telephone.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy.Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Have excellent experience in teaching and working with children. Extensive knowledge of the NYS Learning Standards, Science of Reading, and current educational research.Extensive knowledge and understanding of child and adult learning development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community. Demonstrate the ability to provide leadership. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans.Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.Ability to organize and coordinate work.Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students and parents, and to prepare oral or written communications, such as presentations, reports, memoranda, letters.Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, parents, community groups and others contacted in the course of work.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.Meet such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
