Position: Support Staff Coordinator (K-12) 7/1/25 - 6/30/26 - Internal Candidates OnlyQualifications: State Certification as a School Psychologist or Social WorkerEffective Date: 7/1/2025 - 6/30/2026Salary: As per the STA ContractNO REDUCTION CLASS/CASE LOAD Position Function:Works with Principals and Director of PPS to facilitate vertical alignment in content and practices related to Student Support (Psychologist and Social Workers). A particular emphasis will be placed on developing protocols and best practices to address student and family needs. NOTE: Support Staff will still comply with the contractual two after school meetings per month. Members should attend meetings as appropriate. This may include presentations to other Departments and attending guidance department meetings, special education department meetings or grade level meetings. Essential FunctionsSupport District Goals.Prepares, monitors and implements individual department plans and activities, including leading department staff meetings. Staff department meetings may take place during the contractual day to accommodate the various building times in the district. Unify and provide recommendations for departmental and district policies (such as programming, communication, general practices, etc).Promote consistency district-wide with regard to:Re-integration of students;Student Social Emotional Support;Responding to various types of mental health concerns;Development of proactive programs to address students needs andCrisis management.Serve as a liaison between the department and administration. Helps support the delivery of IEP needs across the district. Requesting and coordinating testing accommodations for College Board, ACT, and any other assessments beyond those administered by New York State. Provides for continuous improvement of student engagement through professional development in cooperation with building administrators.Gives input to and/or attends Professional Practice Committee meetings.Develops department meeting agendas and provides minutes to department, building principals, and the Director of PPS.Develops and maintains Student Support webpage. Assists in planning, compiling and managing the content area district budget.Coordinates the selection, inventory and ordering software, supplies and equipment.Assists in the selection of staff in the department.Makes recommendations regarding the placement and educational plans of students who are not meeting achievement levels or are in need of remedial instruction.Keeps current of developments in the content area and provides staff members with assistance and instructional material as appropriate.Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.Additional DutiesPerforms other related tasks as assigned by Principals, Director of PPS, and other Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
