Position: Cosmetology Teacher Assistant Application Deadline: March 5th, 2024 Compensation: Salaried with Benefits per the SCTA Teacher Assistant Contract and New York State Teachers Retirement System pension. Minimum Requirements:Must possess valid New York State Department of Education Teacher Assistant certification.Must possess a valid License in CosmetologyTeaching License preferred by not requiredCosmetology Teaching Assistant Position Responsibilities:Assist and/or carry out lesson plans and modify instructional materials based upon the directions provided by the teacher.Use strategies, equipment, materials, and technologies, as directed by accommodation plans to accomplish instructional objectives.Assist and implement in adapting instructional strategies and materials as directed by the Individualized Educational Plan.Use strategies that promote the learners independence as directed.Demonstrate proficiency in the vocational skills associated with the career area of Cosmetology.Keep documented records of successful strategies and milestones to be shared with vocational education teacher.Have working knowledge of ethical practices for confidential communication about individuals with exceptional learning needs.Follow instructions of classroom teacher and administrators.Proficient in Computer skills and knowledgeable of Google All interested and qualified individuals must submit an application through the OLAS online posting.
